Default Sensor wiring question please help

Ok the senosr that is attached to the underside of the plenum kindof in front of the distibutor that jhangs upside down... I cant locate the wire connector that plugs into the sensor. Where do I look for it now that it is not obviously visible to me? This may be why my MAf sensor is not working correctly I dont know. Someone please help me out here.

That's the IAT sensor and that 2-wire harness runs on the RH side of the distributor (right by the distributor clamp bolt) and has a 2-way Weatherpak connector coming off the main ECU harness right there at the back of the engine...sorry I don't have a photo handy.

I have seen two male plugs that are in that location and one looks like it may plug into it but it wont reach over to the sensor....These two plugs are just laying out on top of the passenger side valve cover becuase I dont know where they go. Is there some type of extension maybe?

Yes, the harness will have the mate to the ECU end of the harness (regular 2-way WP) on one end and the male plug that will mate with the IAT sensor on the other end (going from memory it's like 8-10" long). If you're missing that harness you could make another one using the correct connectors, seals, and pins. The other connector you are seeing in that area no doubt is the EGR solenoid connector which is a different style of Weatherpak (not the regular 2-way) it's similar to the two used up front on the diverter valve solenoids.

Thought the inverted impossible to connect plenum sensor was the MAT....snap a pic of the ? connectors and post it.

So it actaully has a removable link (wiring harness) that may not have been put back on? I purchased the harness off of ebay so I will see if that will work. Maybe one of the two plugs that are not hook up are the IAt sensor plug. I did take pics and put them in my computer pics but cant figure out how to post them...How do you do this? Or can I email them to you?

Yep, the IAT harness plugs in at both ends. On the pics you'll have to post them up here or email them.

Ok, the plug in photo #3 is the IAT harness plug. The plug in photo #4 will go to the EGR solenoid. Teamwork...I like that!

lol egr solenoid...thats another problem...I dont have anything but a single wire coming from the egr valve. The guy said he didnt hook up the egr valve when he deleted the air pump system. What would you do? The valve itself is still there but no electrical plugs for the pictured plug. Do I absolutely need the egr hooked up

no but it will need to be blocked off if it is not already.

What are the wire colors you have on these connectors include the tracer color if it has one?

Well the egr valve is on the intake so how do you block it off. Does the egr valve produce vacumm out of the little neck that comes out of the side? can I just leave it on and plug that neck? Do I need to unplug that single wire connector?

Could it be that the car runs better without the mass air flow sensor becuase the iat isnt hooked up?
