C4 Tech/Performance L98 Corvette and LT1 Corvette Technical Info, Internal Engine, External Engine

Replace lifters and timing chain same time??

Default Replace lifters and timing chain same time??

Installing hotcam,springs,compcam 1.6 RR'S,and new felpro stem seals.
87000 miles,is it worth/necessary, changing the lifters and adding new timing chain??

Timing set I would do , lifters just clean and inspect for wear

As said above the lifters are probably fine, just inspect em for wear, clean em up and reuse em. For as cheap as timing chains are you'd be silly not to replace it while you have it off. Go with a roller like he said above, they dont stretch out like the factory junk.

Any recommendations on single VS double timing chain set for the 89.

I'd go with the cloyes set he listed, very good quality part at a decent price. The rollermaster looks nice too but is almost $60 more. I have no experience with rollmaster chains so I can't say if it's worth the extra money or not, but I've used cloyes chains many times and never had a problem with em. Sometimes they don't fit behind the factory covers so keep in mind you MIGHT need to get an aftermarket timing cover.

Geoff doesn't say so in his details but he is in Australia.
70 cents in the dollar and shipping make a big difference down here

Rollmaster is the best of the best, same company that make Romac balancers.Used down here by all the performance people especially long distance touring cars.
