I bought the delay timer from the local vette place, paid $80 used.I did see them at the Carisle show this past weekend for $120 new.
The timer is tucked up under pass side of dash behind the big corvette cushion and in front of the ecm.It is usually taped to the main wire harness running through that area.It has three white wires going to it and has a tab on it like it should have been bolted to something but they always just tape it to the main harness. If you looked at the bottom of it,you can see into it and see a circuit board.
Best way to get to it is remove the dash top,ac/heat duct, and it rite under the duct taped to harness with usually white tape.
Hope this helps!
I didnt want to bypass mine,i like everything to work the way it is supposed to work.
Couldn't take off the door panels today, it was raining outside. I couldn't use the garage either because my dads motorcycles were in there.
Note: I have no interior power at all, except for the clock and the gauges. No console light, radio doesn't power on, power mirrors work, windows work, locks are all dead.
I took the passenger door panel off because my girlfriend slammed my door really hard and it wouldn't open from the outside. I had to replace the Door lock rod clip or somethin like that.
While i had the panel off, i looked for bad wires and didn't find anything..any other ideas?
My lights still don't work when i turn the **** to the interior light position, and my radio still doesn't work.

thanks for the detail, that will be my next hunt. I also like everything to work the way its supposed to, including my battery, and my sense of sanity; which are all tested everytime those darn lights wont shut off!!!
I don't know how to test it, so i just stuck a new one in.
was the old one blown? Did the new one make any difference? If you pull the fuse, check the connectors in the box with a multimeter or test light to see if there is any electrical flow.
If your courtsey lights don’t go on when either door is opened, the dimmer module may have failed.
Signs that the module has failed are -
The hatch door switches don’t work, but the console hatch switch does.
The interior lights come on by turning the light switch but not when you open the door, or they may stay on all the time.
Test by grounding the thick white wire at the module – door hatch switches should work.
Check the black wire is connected to ground. If so, then dimmer module is not connecting these two wires together and making a circuit when the doors open.
Check that the dimmer is receiving a ground at the yellow wire when either door is open. (This yellow wire may be thin white for some years.)
All the parts info, with pictures, is at my Corvette Blog - link same as posted earlier on -http://robhealey.com.au/Corvette/tec...1/#comment-383
I have just answered a comment on that page which may have been from you - good luck
$40 or free...We'll see which one wins. Most likely I'll order the part and ship it to my US address and pick it up next time I'm over. It's not cost effective to ship to Canada with duties, taxes, brokerage fees and extra shipping costs.
