Everytime my car has broken down its because of something electrical like a blown fusible link. Most fusible links are 16 gauge. The only time I couldnt get it home was due to a fuel rail leak, didnt want it to catch fire.

To K.C.E.,
In 2002 we took our 96 LT4 to Yellowstone. The first day out we left @ 6am in pouring rain. About 200 miles later we had lunch in DesMoines, still raining. 55 - 65 mph TOP speed so far. Ten miles later we were in sunshine, a coed in a big Chrysler passed us and we fell in behind at 95 mph. We parted at the state line. After a few hours we left Mitchell, SD and the 75 mph limit was too slow for what few cars were on the interstate. 90 - 95 mph except in traffic (ha), and we arrived in Rapid City, SD after a 960+ mile day, now in the snow! I was sure I would have to be helped from the car as my old age (60) and long day would take their toll. But, NO - no help needed, no aches, no pains, no stumbling from legs asleep - just fond memories of the non-rainy part of the days drive in a most comfortable Vette. The trip continued with other long days, or hours in the Vette with no problems other than Bison crap - but that's another story...Enjoy the ride!
