It vibrates but nothing like it use to. I had bad vibration once it got up to 50 it would shake and rattle. I had all four tires balanced, checked for roundness and bent rims. The tire guy had said vette's were prone to throw the weights off. It's alot better but i still get a little. Not sure if it is drivetrain related but that is the next step. A body shop guy suggested a brace like in a convertable.
Same observation regarding 4.10 gears. Before the 4.10's the car vibrated from about 80mph on up, but since the gear change it seems to have gone away. I was afraid if it was driveshaft speed it would come in at lower speed but same driveshaft rpm. I need to go out & confirm what is going on, but I do believe the 4.10's may have eliminated the vibration. While changing the gears I checked balance on driveshaft, half shafts, & wheels. All were perfect.
1989 Coupe here. Modified ZZ3 has taken the place of the L-98, but I still have the shake around 75-80 mph. I'm prioritizing some tranny mods right now, so the slight vibration will have to wait a bit (unless it IS in the tranny, which I doubt is the case).
I'll be balancing the wheels, then checking the front ball joints and swapping the rear U-joints if need be.
While I do have the camber brace installed (and loving it!), my car still does rattle. This is just a common place in older cars. This could be a 95 Bently and I am sure it would still rattle. It is just the nature of the beast when dealing with older cars. Now this doesn't mean I don't try to curtail the rattles at every point. Nothing pisses me off more than one stupid little rattle.
So far I've only seen one header with a CARB number assigned to it, and that's hooker shortys. To my knowledge, no long tubes are legal in California and you won't pass the visual with replacement cats unless the car is over 7 years old (I think). The warranty from the MFG for the cats is somewhere around 7 years, and after that I believe you can replace them with aftermarket. Good Luck
Actually, It started out for LT1s and LT4s because there were changes made going to the LT1/4 series that I was not sure would translate over. I was more curious about the LT1/4 combo because I have an LT4 and it vibrates and has from day one with several attempts to get rid of the problem. I have yet to hear from anyone that has had this particular type vibration succesfully get rid of it. I was looking to see how common it is on the LT1/4 but other people have added the L98, which is good as it shows a problem that seems to cross the lines of the whole C4 production run.
I had a humming sound between 74-76 mph that resonated throughout the entire cabin. It has gone away, but because I have only had the car since late August, I cannot say if weather, etc. plays a role.
I was looking for a particular type vibration based on characteristics described above, not rattles, but thanks anyway

Mild vibration from the rear at 75-85 but doesn't affect drivability and seems to calm down as speed increases. Had her to 132 with no noticeable malfunctions.
Well, it looks like about 50% of our cars vibrates. Sounds like a real design problem, huh. I would still like to hear from some of you that have had this and fixed it. It appears that no one has eliminated this problem.
Speak up if you have, and note that it is not tires, or rims, or u joints or bearings or half shafts. I will get my driveshaft back today from having it balanced and we will see if that helps.
I'm In on the it vibrates side..... 85 L98....tried the driveline rebalance...replaced the ujoints....rebuilt the dana 44.....its more of a noise than a big vibration but I wanted it gone...makes me a little uncomfortable at 140 mph I'd hate to have something break....might ruin my hole day
Add me to the vibrate list at 50 to 60. It's something that started resently. Had the tires rebalanced and that reduced it some. I think it's time to have an alinment. The tires are about ready for replacement also.
I voted,l98 does vibrate a little. I think somewhere around 110mph.
It is MUCh better now that the driveshaft is balanced.
I also know that i have a bent rim. I am afraid that the rim might be ruined
if i have it fixed, they say it happens sometimes when trying it.
So i just stop short of 110!!!!!! :D :D

Hey guys, I bought this lifetime alignment from Firestone for about $150. It is good for the rest of your ownership of your car. Do they realize how often I will be in there for a balance???

I was thinking about getting that tool. One heck of a deal for us with our cars!!
