car won't start
But....before you dig in....confirm that you have 12V to the pump. Remove the filler door and rubber surround on the filler neck and you will see the harness for the pump. Check and see if you're getting voltage there during key on / cranking. If not, put 12V to terminal G on the ALDL (I think there's an echo in here...I keep hearing this
) and then see if you have 12V at the harness. It would suck to buy and install a new pump and then find out you have a bad fuse. But, at least you're making headway, and have narrowed it down to a fuel delivery issue. No fuel pressure during cranking means no start.
My 95 did ! Also the sock on the fuel pump may have went south so you might want to check it.
If you replace the fuel pump from the top and buy one from a discount auto parts buy the peice of hose that goes on it separate and throw away the cheap stuff that turns to mush after a while.
This gas we are getting around D/FW has gone sour in both my vettes three times in the last couple years.
The crap is a water magnet !
I put fuel stablizer in if its going to set over a month.
If you need any help I get back into town for a couple weeks but this weekend is used up already !
Sounds like you have the basic knowledge and tools but If that pumps working change the filter.
Oh and the bad gas mucks up injectors , regulators and fuel pumps as well as causing tanks to rust.
Good luck and good motoring .
