I'm trying to flush my fuel supply line and drain some fuel out of the tank to see what condition it is in. I have the fuel rail removed for injector replacement, all the electrical connections disconnected to the injectors, temp sensors, etc.
When I turn on the key to flush the line the fuel pump does not run. It must have something to do with wiring that is disconnected. Any help is appreciated.
It might be easier to just syphon it out of the tank. If you are worried about its condition then don't run it through the pump sock, pump, lines, filter, and regulator.

It should only run for 2 seconds ,then cut off. You will have to hot wire the fuel pump relay at the firewall to run it continuous.
It doesn't come on at all now that I've disconnected wiring to the injectors and sensors. I wanted to flush the line to make sure no debris got into it when I took it apart. I think some pieces of the old o-ring might have fallen in the end of the tubing. I"m puzzled why the fuel pump won't come on now.
If you supply 12 volts to terminal "G" on the ALDL connector, the pump should run until the power is removed.
Did you remove the fuel pump fuse ??
No fuses removed. Didn't check yet to see if any are blown. The pump was working in key on position before I removed the plenum, runners, egr, etc. I'll try the "G" terminal next. Thanks!
