Default When will Tech Tips be available again?

To any/all monitors:

Could someone please advise what is going on with the tech tips?

It requires a password, which is not our forum logon, and when clicking on the 'get password', it doesn't work...

Please Please Please advise what is going on as many members are unable to acquire valuable information which many other members took the time to make available...

I see the question pops out a lot. Due to the fact I'm now a Lifetime member, I'll address this in the Steering Committee Forum.

The worse it can happen is for the mods to say no., let's give it a try

First I heard about this. If this is true I hope the Admin gurus will start a rebuild. Many, many of our new members ask questions which are/were discussed in Tech Tips.

I know this doesn't exactly resolve the issue but you can see some of the old tech tips using the internet archive... http://web.archive.org/web/200402021....php?TopicID=2

I have asked this question also. From what I have been answered and read from other posts, its to my understanding the problem was when they updated the Forum software. The Tech Tips did not work with the new software thus was not operational. I guess the new operating system or something like that did not work with the older data base.

This is to the best of my knowledge currently.

I do see that the posted link does work, Thanks.

This is on the list of issues to be addressed, but I have not heard how it will be addressed or what the timetable might be.

I don't see why they don't just do a copy/paste and repost them. From what I remember, it's just text with some pics.

I think the lack of interest may have something to do with the fact that the author was Perma Banned and has his own Corvette website.

There hadn't been a Tech Tips update done since sometime in early 2004. IIRC, the password used by the mods to update the section was lost.

This subject has been discussed in the Steering Committee before and it looks like it will be some time before the section comes back, if at all. All of the current tips would have to be manually re-entered because of difference in the old fourm software and the new vBulletin software. Re-hosting any pics within a given tech tip would have to be done too.
