Can my headlight wiring support a 90 watt low beam headlight that is a halogen? I looked but can't find any information that is specific to my quiestion. Will it overheat the wiring and cause a fire or blow a fuse? Just curious. HID is to expensive at the moment so I will use the 90 watt halogen to see how it works out. Hope someone can help. Thanks.

Several members including myself are using the Hella lens with the H4 80-100 watt low beam bulbs with no problems.

Some will say you should upgrade the wiring but, everything has worked fine on my daily driven "91" for two years now.

fantastic! It's 90 low beam and 100 high beam. How much brighter were your lights with the 80 compared to the stock ones?

How many watts are the stock sealed beams?

Thank you VERY VERY MUCH!!!

DOT Halogen low beams are 55 watts.

Technically, anything over 55 watts is not street legal that's why parts stores don't usually have any light bulbs over 55 watts or they say for "off road use only".

The Osram 80 watt low beams are a lot brighter than the Sylvania Silverstars they replaced.

Go with Hellas as many of us have....I'm just using 55/100 in my '91 and they are probably three times brighter than stock. Call this supplier they are easy to work with and provide a lot of helpful information to help YOU decide what wattage is best for your use.
