Been following this thread since the beginnning. Frankly, mechanically it's well over my head, but a true reflection of what this forum is all about!
Thanks for the update and good luck with the ride!
SAVE THE WAVE
Yes it is and I could not have done any of this without these guys!
I just want to touch base on one thing that has bothered me since I started this thread. It is in regards to adjusting the valves.
There always seemed to be someone who kept saying......how did you adjust the valves? Well, I tried it by the book one cylinder at a time with the intake off so I could see the lifter begin to move and set the preload at 1/4 turn. After the motor had warmed up I had rocker noise galore. So. I went back to my old way adjusting with the engine running and feeling the rocker vibration through the allen wrench on the locking screw. When I could not feel it anymore I set the preload to 1/2 turn and all was quiet and the results speak for themselves. Just goes to show one more time that there are several ways to skin a cat with the end results being the same.

What was solution and what was the problem? It got lost in 22 pages.
I guess so.
See post #1 for the problem and post #416 for the solution. Well, sort of a solution. I'm trying to figure out now why the car peaked out so early.
So glad to see it's finally running right. 333 at the wheels is nothing to sneeze at! Hope the weather's still nice enough where you're at to be able to drive it a little bit. Congrats, and have fun!
