love the flowmasters. I have a 1200RPM drone, actually will vary with outside temp. I can't run it on a trip for a long time in that range,(sometimes it bothers me, other times not so much) However mine is a manual, so I can just drop down a gear and its gone.

I was gonna say, just put some 4.10 in there and the drone is gone. For autos put 3.45/3.73 for LT1's and drone is much much less.

While personal taste, I find mine louder than I'd like; both pair, stock and current, which is fed from a very aggressively cammed 409 and 3" pipes. I installed dampening material to quell the noise some, which did naught, so I was forced into a killer stereo.

Ditto. Which saves me gas money when they won't play! (Not that I would.)

I am not thrilled with Flowmaster's plain tips, either, so I had SS tips added.

I've considered Magnaflows but hear very mixed reviews, so the Flows stay put.

I am running a full TPIS exhaust system which includes long tubes and the cat-back system. The cat-back includes 3 chamber Flow Masters....I think the car sounds great......like a high performance sports car should sound like.......but this is really a personal taste......only you can determine "what sounds good".......

as far as interior drone....hell these cars have enough road noise anyway between squeaks, rattles, stiff suspension (at least my early C4does).......to me its all part of the Corvette hobby unless you are driving a C5 or newer Vette.......

Not for the shy or faint hearted.
