I never considered that as a possibility

I like that but going to be a tight fit @ 9 3/4".
Just measured; tunnel 9" wide hard under C beam ,widening to 10 1/2" at floor pan

We must think alike! I was just looking at their website also after listening to a few exhaust videos and saw the same muffler! Its interesting because it is like a resonator and X pipe together... I wonder....

I tried the dynomax ultra x flow.It doesent fit in the tunnel.Too big.I mounted one at the rear before it splits to the tailpipes.Hangs very low and droned like a b***h.
Magnaflow has an internal x-pipe resonator as part of one of there full cat back systems.
Several companies make a narrow x-pipe that will fit in the tunnel(Summit Racing has some in their new catalog).

I'm definitely going to buy this:
http://advancedautocc.com/item--The-...-ltx_pipe.html
Just need to figure out what mufflers I want. I'm torn between series 10 flows, dynomax bullets, powersticks, and twister spiral mufflers

Just ordered the ltx x pipe mentioned above. I cannot wait!!!!

It looks like since it's 30" long, can it only fit one way, or should I have the shop cut it down so that it's closer to the cats?

if your going to a muffler shop then have them fit it close to your headers .i have a freind that had spin tec custom build an exhaust for his zr1.car just has headers and gears (4,10s) car with a flowmaster cat back went 12.43 @116,75 mph , with the spintec 21/2 in exhaust with a dr gas xpipe 12.10@119.47mph. they said that until i got to 500 rwhp that a good 21/2 in system would work best for a STREET/STRIP CAR. we are thinking of putting in a 3 in ceter sec. and keeping the 21/2 in rest of it . a note about interior resonance the dreaded 1700-2400 zone if you extned the tips so they are 3.in past the valance and k33p at least 15mm(top of tips going through the opening in the valance) the interior will be tons quieter .vids of this carwith the above exhaust are on u tube under the screen neame joeshmoe12301230 . it the blk car. white car has corsa

I'm sticking with 2.75" all the way back. I have faith in this stock exhaust . After I put this x in, I'm going to have the mufflers replaced with 2.75" straight pipe, and after a month, I'll add mufflers if it's too loud/I don't like the sound

Not much talk about resonance here. Don't forget that the C4 is very prone to have resonance when you look for louder sound. If you don't take long trips or don't like to listen to your stereo then have it. Just fooling around I stumbled onto a great exhaust that I have on my 92 LT1 6speed.

I put an H-style crossover just before the split.

Then I just used muffler elims. That's a stock resonator. Results... very aggressive sound with my Hooker Shortie headers. Surprisingly, very little resonance. I have a B&B 3" catback with a crossover hanging in the shed. It's sound is much deeper, not as loud and and has more resonance. I'm sure you have read this suggestion before, but I'll do it again, go to a show with Vettes and ask to hear different exhausts before you buy or fabricate.

I'm getting rid of the stock res because it chokes down to 2.25". I will have a true 2.75" when this is all said and done. So the tips are supposed to stick out past the valence if I don't want excessive drone? I don't want it to look bad

Just for quick clarification:
What kind of paint am I supposed to use to spray the stock pipes to see where the heat dissipates?

Ya I'm definitely in for sound clips

Back to the x pipe thing, when i paint the stock midpipe, do I want to place the pipe right before, at, or after where the paint comes off?
