Default She's Alive !!!!!!!!

Hesitation and bogging problem finely fixed....
I was fighting this problem for about 2 weeks after numerous searches and help from members she's running GREAT.....
I had a shop tell me the rear cat was clogged so off it came, then I found out the cat blew out into the mufflers so I replaced them.. Looked at MAF, TPS seemed fine. Changed plugs and wires no help Fuel pressure was good at the rails but did not check it under a load, A GM tech drove it and told me to replace the fuel pump, sock and filter. Come to find out the previous owner had the pump replaced in 07 and whoever did it then broke some bolts and SILICONED the pump in place ..... Dropped the tank had all the pieces of silicone removed and now she runs like a new car.... I'd like to say Thanks to all that helped me through this problem. This fourm is just a wealth of information.

I can't believe people do stuff like that.
I'm glad you are back on the road again.

WTF.

How do you break something in the fuel tank and expect silicone to fix it?

Congratulations! That is an awesome feeling. I'm glad the fuel pump was the problem (not that you need one), because that's one of the easier things to do on a C4. And now you're familiar with all things L98!

since there no bolts holding the pump to its bracket, i would ASSume the 'broken bolts' were those that hold the 'sender assy' to the tank...if only a couple of those twisted off during removal (NOT unusual), tank seal of both liquid and vapors could be marginal...i would not select or recommend RTV as a repair, but others may disagree...same for oem sender/tank gasket damage

Thats the feeling that urges you to fix and upkeep your Vette! Its nice when it all works out!
Now for whom ever used the silicon to try and pospone replacing bolts on the fuel tank, thats a ricer repair as I like to call it! Shame on them!

Glad you fixed it the right way!
