Not planning on 4th gear in quarter as I tried this last year with 4.86 rear gear, the 60ft was 1.3 but the mph fell off bad in 4th to get thru the traps.

What gear do you plan on running. for me I simply anticipated the power and mph and peak rpm to come up with 3.45

just curious as the center section isnt out yet
Your running a 28" ET Street or slick right?

i'll be running a 4.10 gear .. i have a huge tire on the car , it's a 29.5 " full slick . yeah u never wanna go into 4th gear in a auto trans , u will kill ur power band and u could kill ur trans .. OD is not made for drag racing .

Yeh but I am running a 4L80E from RPM Transmissions, with a lifetime warranty. Rodney told me to try and break it.

Some sort of V mounts.

The sledgehammer has a vertical intercooler.

Each pic is a shot of the radiator from the front and the engine shot is the same cars engine showing the intercooler in a V config, except the sledgehammer.

Putting 10 pounds of **** in a 1 pound bag gets a little cramped.

Oh definitely, you've got nowhere near the space restraints that does. You could do a true simple V mount for sure.

Red L98 here is a shot of my " v " type intercooler

The bad thing is it a littlte small. I don't know it you can see in this picture but I have a 1 inch ballance tube between the pipes to lower the restriction.
If you are intersted and seeing you are somewhat close, I have a Large PWR intercooler that I had on my L98 turbo setup. It has a passenger side inlet and top outlet and mounts to where the hood hindge bolts too.

2Bar,

Is that intercooler sitting on top of the shroud?

I looks like it sits on top and the air enters from underneath the car and you have a small piece of aluminum to vent the air through ahole in the shroud, through the intercooler, and into the engine compartment (when hood is closed).

Or does this sit in front of the radiator?

What kind of power are you making and do you drive this on the street normally?

Highmile,
yes, this has a large hole cut into the top of shroud letting the air flow into the engine compartment,
I have only driven the car on the street and have not had it on dyno.

Red 98, I will get a couple of pics to you soon, I did measure the core it's a pwr piece,
core measurements
24 wide
12 tall
3" thick

From the pics, that core only looks to be about 14" wide without the end tanks.

Seems like out of all these (all these as in "few") non Callaway Corvettes that are turbo'd on this site, noone has ever seen a dyno. Strange. You people are street tuning these cars at wide opened throttle?

The highest powered turbo car I ever tuned on the street was in the 400whp range (2300lb chassis) and its borderline flirting with death to load the motor properly, which basically involved 4th gear pulls to redline. Luckily I'd located a nice stretch of road that was straight and fairly lightly used.

Here's a low quality pic of my FMIC. Its an 18" x 12" x 4" horizontal flow core.

For big power demands and if mounted in a similar fashion, I think there is room for a vertical flow core of up to roughly 24" x 14" x 6" dimensions.

Something similar to this configuration, but with a thicker core to increase the charge air flow cross section:

This size IC is similar to the A2A that I built for my car, but mine was 5.5" thick. If you went to the guy that I sent you the link prior, he has an additional core (spare) for the one that I had built. Mine is a vertical flow (top to bottom) with integrated burst panel and strengthening ribs/air diverters built into the design.

If you do a search, you will find pics of mine being psi tested at 35 psi. I wanted it to be able to flow 2000 SCFM with less than 1psi drop across the unit. It turned out that the psi drop was just slightly more than 50% of design criteria.

And mine did dyno WELL past your requirements of 500WHP.

Post pics of progress.

Did you talk to JR? Is what you spoke of above, the other core from when he did mine?

I am not sure what he charges these days. I did the design, fully drawn on ACAD to fit in the C4 engine compartment. He did mine cheap, as I had the design already drawn.

We can take this to PMs if you want.
