There's another recent thread on Exotic Muscle (EM) headers and Merle's potential financial issues. Both are really good products that people don't complain about. EM's are probably the best value for the money but you might have to wait longer to get a set.

SW and Melrose are even better but cost more (than $750). Hookers are over-priced for a street car IMO. But, they are fine if you want a tuned header for the track.
I've been searching for the past 4 hours, but thanks . I already came across that thread, got in touch with Weav, and have solved all of my issues

I bought the hooker 2149 for emissions and price. They thinner than the TPiS, but given my current HP goals id go for the one of the boutique providers EM-melrose.

hooker are fine and there is nothing wrong with them. you just have to ask yourself if +5 hp for a stock engine is worth the price difference, typical 383s may see 10-15 hp differende, or 15+ full all out race motors. though I really shouldn't be running a "long" tube at this point anyway...but I stick with the hookers!

Had the Hooker 2149's on my 396 for the past 10+ years. Still look great.

Melrose is the best header your going to get.

They are lighter hand blended the ports are super clean they are cut from a block of mild steel "there are no restrictive welds" your not going to beat it.

They only make headers for the corvette so all the fab work and dyno work is just for the corvette you cant get any better then that.

Holley say of Hooker 2149 and 2151 as follows: Does not fit with AFR angle plug heads.

Does that rule out AFR heads then completely? Or do the straight angle plug heads fit a C4?

If they don't then Hookers are out of the picture, I'm afraid as I prefer AFR heads for my -86.

Are TPIS products available through any distributors or dealers? I get absolutely zero response to my questions from TPIS.

They use standard header bolts.
FAIL!

Once you get some time on them, you will see why.

Dangggg, those sure are purdy!!! Let me know how the install goes! If it goes well, I may have to invest

You should get her dynoed now, and again after you put them on... Make a deal with the shop and tell them you want to see your increase!

Hahaha, they are drop dead gorgeous. I tucked both into bed for the night

I'll keep you updated on the install and let me just say I am thoroughly impressed that TPiS sent me o2 extensions and fel pro gaskets. Class A company right there

You guys want a vid with just the headers on?

I love this comment. Like primary size is the only thing that goes into header design.
