What are you doing, besides tearing the car apart and how is this a Bose problem.
Dang guy, you just can't say I hate something and don't give a reason.
Please clarify how the Bose system has something to do with you disassembling most of the interior? Not being a smart azz, My car has the stock Bose system and I haven't had one problem with it.

Why the separate head unit buried behind the passenger dash? The head unit doesn't do anything by itself. They've split the traditional head unit into 2 parts. One you see, one you don't. I've seen very accomplished folks on the Forum describe removing this as the most difficult thing they've ever done.
Long story short, having to rip out the dash to get the buried "real" head unit out was such a big deal, the job became more and more out of control - thanks to Bose.
To fix a 20yr. unit, with only a 1 year guarantee was way more pricier $$ than a whole new system.
I'm not going thru that tear apart again.
Now I've got a rockin new system that plays tunes on a thumb drive, my iPod, and any cd. All for le$$ than fixing that 20yr. old troublemaker.
DONE !
Now it looks great.
Also, why 1ohm instead of 4ohms like the rest of the world? Why an amp in every speaker? Why do they delight in being different than everybody else? Hey - it's loud car anyway. You can't hear specs.
You don't have to remove the Receiver box from under the dash to install the new system, unless you wanted to sell the entire Bose system.
I just plugged the GM stereo wire harness adapter into the side of the receiver box and extended the wires to connect to the new head unit and no problems.
Ripped my bose out from day one and put it all on ebay. Actually made some good profit off it. Since then i've had anywhere from one 15" Massive Audio DMX in an aeroport box in the hatch area doing 151 db on the Termlab meter to what I have now, a Diamond Audio D3 8" sub, with an Pioneer flipout dvd player with the upgrade that shows tach, speed, and g-force on it. For all the mids/high's im running CDT sepertates. For amps, I switched over to Memphis Audio for the highs and for the lows an Autotek 1500....it rocks! lol.

There are several reasons. Some being packaging, power dissipation, line loss reduction plus several more and 80s, 90s technology. But Bose is not exclusive or the inventor of this kind of remote technology. It has been used in aircraft for a long time way before the corvette.
It was used in 50s cars also as a remote power supply and tuner.
OHMS- 1? - If you mean the speakers, I believe they are 4 ohm speakers.
Nope
1ohm at the speakers. That's why the speakers are each individually amped.
Also, unfortunately, at first I tried what GKK said. POS junk dead. That's why I had to remove it. Good riddance. No way I'm going thru that again if the Bose junk decides to break down again.
Now I'm Bose free and loving it. Modern system in my cool, loud, fast, shiny, 20yr old car.
[QUOTE=pcolt94;1573593099]Send me all the Bose stuff and I will pay shipping!!!
I'll pay shipping & throw in a nice tip:o
My Bose sounds great but the aftermarket does have alot better options but at night the stereo will look out of place with all the orange lights(90-96) unless the radio display matches the interior running lights.
I also have the Bose home theater set with the Bose head unit & I love it
Actually, Bose used a 1 ohm speaker impedance to increase the power in a small amplifier size.
The 90-96 Bose amplifier is 50 watts but, at a speaker impedance of 4 ohms, it would only put out about 1/4 of the power. Using a 1 ohm speaker impedance increases the amps power to 50 watts.
Basically, the Bose amp puts out 50 watts of power in a very small size which saves space (a very ingenious design for the times).
