Unless you tack it in the corners, your car will leak there with heavy rain unless you have the aftermarket drains to keep water from puddling. My car was hanging out a little bit and rainwater was pouring off the roof onto my hatch. I checked afterwards and all was fine. Do like I suggested, especially while the gaskets are new and havent shrunk. You may get away with no WS adhesive with OEM gaskets but I have never seen an aftermarket gasket that was a perfect match.
Well...I have good news and bad news. I got the hatch, rear roof, and front of roof pieces installed. Let it set for a few days and then hit it with a hose test. The good part is that all the peices I installed didnt leak! the bad is that there is a pretty steady drip coming from about halfway across the top of the passenger window. Any ideas what could cause this? The weatherstrip on the targa looks good so Im wondering if the water could be getting in somewhere else and just dripping in there.
I'd try siting in the car while someone else hoses it down, be alot easyer to pinpoint the leak.
I did just that the other day. The water was dripping in pretty steadily at the middle of the pass. side window. All the seals over there look to be in good shape to me so Im not sure how its getting in. It almost looks like its coming from over the top of the window but it leaked even when we just simulated rain with the hose, no direct spray. Im confused?
