Introducing my 383 Stroker!

Still....If it turns out to be too peaky (having too much mid-range torque), I'm saving an HSR as a backup plan. And, I haven't forgotten how to polish/port.

FWIW: Peak crankshaft torque should be ~500ft/lbs and last from 3400-4800rpms. You should see how the torque curve compares to a stock L98!

80-hrs to port/polish the intake
Cost? Well, I'm afraid to REALLY add up all the parts! (Though I guessed (low) in another thread in General). Everything is new except: Dizzy, Edelbrock base, plenum, lifter retainers/tray, fuel rails, and oil pan. It's unbelievable how the little things add up!
I took about 6mos to research, shop, and buy short-block parts. (That doesn't include the heads/intake(s). Builder took 4-6wks (on/off) to machine/assemble longblock.
Ultimately, buying a rotating kit, bearings, and block (if necessary) would be much simpler -- saving LOTS of time. Part of my problem was I bought the heads and had them angle milled to 56cc for reuse on my OEM 350. Milling was a waste of money after I chose to do the 383. Plus, it made shopping for pistons a bit more complicated. (There ended up being only one "right piston for me and I didn't find it right away. But I found a set on Fleabay and regained milling costs since noone else bid. I got $600 pistons for 1/2 price -- 20cc 4032 Wisco 5.7" rod forged pistons.)
