Anyone here run the Holley tpi afpr? I have an adjustable on my engine now but it is not acting as it should for some reason. The diaphragm is good but getting the pressure set is hit & miss. I am thinking of getting the Holley but would like some feedback. If not the Holley then what would be your choice?
I have the Holley. So far so good except the adjusting screw broke with me. I just replaced it and all seems ok. I had mentioned the Holley to Jon at FIC and he said that they have had a lot of problems with them. He didn't elaborate but you might want to get his input before buying one.
I have the Holley, and I had to file the edge of the body of it a little to fit my fuel rail. After that, it was set it and leave it. i checked it a few times after I installed it, but since it was always right on, I haven't touched it in maybe 5 years.
Just a word to the wise.........
DON'T PLAY WITH IT.
I was moving the center piece, and it fell out, and the spring with it. It was a bear to reinstall it with the spring shooting out of the hole till I got it right and pressed on the spring, pushed the pivot juuuuuust right, and then put it in a plastic bag till I installed it.
what a pita.
installed, it works as advertised.
Have had the Holley for about 5 years, all is good and has to be the easily adjusted, from what I have seen.
Thanks Dan, that is exactly why I was looking at the Holley. The one I have has a small hex head screw and it is a real pita to adjust while the engine is running. I'm getting lazy in my old age.
coupeguy2001, thanks for the warning.
I have a Aeromotive AFR. Bought from JEGS. had problems with the first one, returned it fo another one and seems to be working fine. Looks nice too! '93 LT1.

Dan, I have another question, the only Holley regulator I can find for TPI lists Camaro & Firebird w/305. Am I missing another one for the 350 or would that one work? It's the one with a disc on the top for adjustments.
I run a BBK AFPR with no issues the thing is pretty straight forward just move your diaphram an spacer over.
I'm afraid my diaphragm may be the problem in the adjustable I have now and by the time I buy a new diaphragm it's not too much more for a whole new unit.

I run the Holley with the big disk on top and I think it's great. After a run and reviewing the datalog, if I want to tweak the afr throughout the rpm range, I'll just turn the **** instead of firing up the laptop and doing it through the computer. I have mine marked at 12:00 (on a clock). If I want to go a little richer, I'll move the **** to 12:30 or 1:00 if I need more. Moving it :30 will make a difference of .1 or .2 afr and it only takes a second. Helps to have a wideband.
