I almost tripped over all the tubing on the shop floor. What are you building, a 400 point cage?:)

Re: Project Roll Cage (L98Terror)
Tips 1)If the track techs don't care to see the welds- smooth the welds with bondo/spot puddy and then paint. Looks like factory!
2)I also think tracks still require 6" square plates under the roll bar mounting points.

Re: Project Roll Cage (Mr. Magoo)
I think they don't like to see sloppy welds. If you have ever seen a funny car or top fueler, all you see are welds as they do not coat the frames on these cars. I just had a chassis builder quote me $700 for a 10 point with swing out doors that are also removable. I had one in my Z28 and never had any problems in Tech because of the welds. I highly recommend you do not use any putty or such, if some falls out because it cracks etc, the inspector will probably stop you in your tracks. I would also recommend that it be TIG welded instead of a MIG. You get much better penetration and also you will not have to worry about weld cracks.

Re: Project Roll Cage (gcrouse)
That is a serious roll cage! How fast are you planning on going? I don't know how much weight you added. But I am sure that you have counter plans to make up for that setback. That is awesome!
