Default A/C issues

Hi, new to this site and am trying to get some info on my 1990 C4. I have a problem with the electronic heater / AC panel, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. In addition the fan works in two positions - off or flat out. There is no variation in fan speed. Is there a test that can be carried out on the various modules or do I have to start replacing parts. Any help is appreciated.
Cheers, Rick

Over 90% of the problems with the control head can be fixed very easily by doing what is described in the link!

This usually fixes the problem. One tip: After you remove the unit and it is on your bench (kitchen table, etc) spread a towel on the surface and place the head on it. Then start your dis-assembly. That keeps tiny screws and parts from rolling onto the floor and getting lost.

Let us know how you make out!

We first need verification from you that you have the C68 automatic control unit and not the manual type. You will then get the proper information.

The first post is a good start for the button problem for the C68. However your fan problem is probably something else.

I would first check the fan control connector on the fan control module which is on top of the evaporator box on the right side under the hood. Look for any burnt or discolored wires. Check the pins for good contact and see if they look spread out. A bad connection can make the fan run full speed with no control.
