We ran the car Friday and here is what we did
8.6 sec 1/8 @ 81mph
I dropped the car off this morning at the trans shop to get the Stall changed from 2800rpm to 2500rpm. We have to much stall right now. With the high stall I can not get my 275/40/17 tires to hook up. Once we drop to the 2500rpm stall it is going to be even worse. So what is the biggest tire I can get on my rims? I have my factory saw blade rims in the garage, I want to put a pair of drag tires on them and just change out at the track. What tire and size? If you look at the specs on the car you can see what has been done, do you have any suggestions for dropping my time even more through adjustments or tunning?

Put some drag radials on the car and leave the 2800 stall. If you cannot get the car to hook with drag radials you have something broke or not set-up correctly. My completly stock Z-51 supension with 275-40-17 can run 1.48 60 ft times. That was with BFG or Mickey Thomson drag tires.
Going to a 2500 stall is not going make much difference in those numbers. I'm not sure Its worth the effort. What tires and pressure? For instance, my BFG KDs wont hook at 30# but they do at 20#. Low 1.8 60' leaving at 1000 RPM.

I have 275/40/17 Kumho tires with 32psi in them.
if you go to youtube and look at user name ( noeysuarez ) you will see my races. I would link it but we are blocked from youtube at work
Nice video. Sounds like you take it up on the converter at launch. May want to adjust air pressure and launch RPM before you spend a bunch of money. Drag raials are the real answer though. I used to put 100# of lead shot behind the seats on Saturday nights also. More than one way to get it to hook.

Now you see what I am dealing with. It has been many years sense I did any racing, I am 40 years old. After a few trips to the ER I promissed the wife I would give it up and just stick with building race engines for my airboat. She was the one that suggested we buy this C4 Corvette and now she cant take it back. She does not know I went to the track Friday but I know it is comming.
I figures if I put the car on a diet, and get some traction I will get into the 12 on the 1/4 and the 7 on the 1/8th. Please fell free to pas along any and all tips or tricks that I might have forgot or missed.
Full tank of gas always helps. Extra weight over those rear tires.
I launch a stick car....still trying to figure that one out. You guys with autos have it a little easier. I cannot drive worth a crap...still working that one out...My car hauls, 108-109 trap speeds. Gotta love the LT1 and ZF6 combo.
Airboats? I would think that would be more dangerous. IDK??
Also, after viewing your video make sure you are keeping your right foot planted until after the line. I have seen some guys let off before they get to the end of the track. I make it a habit to make sure I am past the line before I let off.
How can you drive and film? WOW.

Cool !!!
I had the same experience , street tires are useless
That's why i'm throwing some Nitto 555R's there as permanent street/strip tires
I had 2 options , launch slowly trying not to spin (losing time)
or Launch hard and spin like crazy (losing time)
I won't never ever race without drag radials !
Period
With a ZZ4 you have a nice running little engine - but it dosen't make a bunch of power and shouldn't be hard to hook it up. A decent drag radial will do the job.
