service engin light
my car is running great its an 86 and the service engin soon light is comming on every once in a while? does any one know what this is doing it for bceause i cant think of what is wrong with it could it be a glitch?

You can see what error codes are stored by turning the ign key to run (engine not running) and shorting between the top right two pins on the ALDL connector above the drivers right knee. The SES (service engine soon) light will flash a 12 (flash flashflash) three times and then flash the stored error codes. Write the codes down and either look them up in the GM service manual or post them here.

I just explained how you can retrieve the stored error codes all by yourself. Read my post again. You can also let a repair place use a scan tool to retrieve the stored error codes. Many places will do it free.
