That is a thought, but not sure if they have helicoils that small, and would be a very tedious install at that. Hopefully he played alot of Operation as a youngster; the board game not his girlfriends.
I think Ill run it till it causes problems then when I have to remove it Ill turn it upside down and drill from the bottom and if that don't work out Ill get a new one or maybe even a used one . thanks

I would advise against it from the standpoint that it will be the worst time possible that it breaks. Your call still
It probably will be OK but if it were my own car, I wouldn't. Every time I have done that route, something went wrong and I end up kicking myself for not doing it at my leisure and instead have to do it at the worst time possible.
I got lucky last night. I was dealing with an AC fuse short. Intermittent. Even the clutch ohms out right. I was about to change it just out of frustration. While doing the Ohm check and using different meters just to be sure, I found that the harness from the car was chaffed and the wire was showing. Know what? Years ago, I said to myself that it was a tight stretch and probably should be reinforced or rerouted. I left it be. Over a year of chasing my tail here and there, reading books to no avail. Even testing from the relay point yielded no results.
It would have taken me 20 mins to do it right years ago. Instead I left it be and WASTED time chasing problems.

Luckily bolts are for more simple than engine wiring harnesses.
