c4 performance
If you press on the gas hard from a stop on a well tuned L98 the tires should chirp hard or leave black marks, you dont need no brake stand.
I have 86 with iron heads with highway gears and a chip, cut air lid, k&n filter, screens cut on MAS, muffler Eliminators, air foil (dont think it does much tho) and thats it, so its basicly stock.
I dont like burnouts cause to me it doesnt prove nothing and waste my tires.
You can do a burnout with a chevette if you brake stank it on a slippery surfice

Id check the fuel filter and fuel preasure, timming, air filter, spark plug gaps, throttle cable (for slack) have someone press the gas peddle down (while parked) and you watch the cable and see if its operating right,, is WOT really WOT.
You will be supprised what a well tuned car can do stock.
Ive said it before but I have a video with stock C4's with l98's running 12's.
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
It protects the filaments behind it, if those get anything touching them odds are youll need a new MAF and it may do screwy things.
I put in a 3.55 Ratio and my stock 86 is a different car , best bang for the buck upgrade. Tyres bust loose in 1st, 2nd and sometimes into 3rd. I now don't get embarrased at the stoplights. You actually will get better accel off the line if you can spin the tyres a bit but get grip as the motor gets into a sweet powerband. if you dont want to change the rear , you can try a higher stall torque convertor..like a 2500 street stall...
If you want good Mileage then get another type of car...
I agree on the 2.59 gear in an auto.... must have been an emission thing.
In my experience, a loose converter with some sticky tires is the best bang for buck thing you can do if you're et hunting.
