Default Removing engine from 88 vette

I am pulling the engine from my 1988 vette for an overhaul. What is best location on engine to connect the hoist chain ? Will it be necessary to remove the plenum to attach the chain. Thanks.

Remove the plenum and runners. Take out the end manifold bolts and use longer ones. Remove engine from the side.

I did one in each of the 4 corners as well and it worked pretty well. Did it all by myself. My heads were off of the car, but i just re-used the head bolts and put one in each corner.

I use a cheap load leveler from (Summit) attached to the heads.
Helps when you need to line things up.

One tip - Throw an old rug over the windshield.
With engines, chains and tools flying around it's awful easy to chip or crack it

I pulled mine from the drivers side also. Disconnect Torque convertor and Tranny first.
