Default Modded LT1 swapped to HSR

Well, now that the L88 hood scoop is on the Vette I could finally fit the Holley Stealth Ram on the 385.

Sorry, I did not have the modded LT1 version dynoed so I have no idea what the swap is going to add (hopefully not subtract) HP wise. I was looking for an intake while I was building my engine and found nothing so I modded an LT1 and it ran fine on that since February. Scored the HSR on Craigslist in April - could not pass it up.

I used a water neck from TPIS and the Kirban AFPR (thanks for the answers to these questions that were already answered here on the forum).

LT1 Version:

HSR when I bought it (no wonder I got it for a steal):

LT1 removed:

Had to extend the new braided fuel lines from the LT1:

HSR in place:

Hood scoop is coming along but still looks terrible (still blending and sanding). When I was giving it a test drive and the sun was behind me it was quite visible from the drivers seat and I could actually watch the throttle move.

Now this is a seat of the pants reaction but it was much "snappier" on the throttle and quick to rev. The only thing that I changed was the intake manifold - I re-used the same throttle body and injectors. I just ordered a new fuel pressure gauge for the fuel rail - the one I had is not liquid filled and was bouncing between 30-60psi making it not very easy for precision setting. I just watched Datamasters and adjusted till the BLMs and O2 crossover count got in the ballpark.

The modding sickness has no cure......

Very cool ! definitely more plenum volume which definitely will help tip in and all low rpm part/mid throttle for sure. Plenum volume will help the cyls fighting for air. How long are the runners vs LTx?do you have any dimensions like height? this fits no probs under a stock hood?

You did a great job of cleaning it up, and it doesnt fit under a stock hood.

Got my new fuel pressure gauge today and put on - man was I way off <20 psi at idle and vacuum disconnected. Purchased the Jegs for $20.00 - nice little unit and no fluctuation.
Put it at 45 - much better now. No wonder my wideband was reading off the chart lean at idle. Strange that the datalog narrowband was not showing this.
