I have been driving my 87 stock vette every day for 22 years and we get snow here. I install 4 Blizzak tires at the beginning of winter and in those 22 years I have driven around 2 stuck 4WD Jeeps!

When I was dating my wife to be back in 2008 I drove my 87 Vert day & night through all weather conditions when I drove to see her.

I have driven through 2 feet deep snow,

Frozen Rain Ice on Illinois roads 3 inches thick.

I drove past Illinois State police cars on I-80 & I-39 in the ditches & looked back to see they were looking at me.

And I even drove it on morning day to work leaving her house when it was a true -30 F air temp.

There is no need for AWD on your C4.

Just very good all season tires & a very carefull Right gas foot.

Just one of the many reasons & love my C4.............

C4 Corvettes are just Awesome driving machines.

Speaking of using some different drivelines.
here is a supra that gave it a go.

Perhaps of you went to a turbo V6 like in the grand national you could get yourself a little room.

Still going to need a plasma cutter, a chassis engineer, and a fab guy to deal with the rest of the suspension.

another link to enjoy full of cool parts, and someones thought process.

I agree that a V6 is the only way to even attempt to make it work in the 'Vette.

The link to the Camaro project is cool. The guy has the right idea, using Caddy parts, IMO. However, that stategy won't work in the Vette, due to the realation ship between the centerline of the crank and the front axle. In the 'Vette, the Crank shaft (engine) is mounted MUCH lower, reletive the the front axle so the axle shaft would need to cross through the crankshaft, rather than under it as in the Caddy where the engine is mounted higher up. I can't see how a V8 and AWD can fit in the C4 platform. Too many parts fighting for the same space.

Install Toronado drivetrains in each end with SBC engines. Probably only take 3-5 years.

This was already discussed 4-5 years ago. Just search in the archives. Baldturbofreak was contemplating doing it using a trailblazer as front suspension and transfer
Box(from what I recall). We pushed him to go for it but he ended up Working on other projects and hasn't been on the board in quite some time.
