87 vette ( 400hp)
So has anyone got some tips on what direction I should go with intakes , injectors , ect .

1. Do you want to be smog legal? This will dictate the direction of your build and eliminate many intake/cam choices by default if you do maintain compliance.
2. Do you have a resource dialed in to perform the tuning? This is probably the most critical...........If it's too rich it washes out the rings, if it's too lean it breaks them. (or worse)

everytime I see a new Corvette owner complain about how underpowered their car is. Makes me laugh actually...Knowing that 99.9% of those that complain of underpowered engines have never come close to driving that car anywhere near its limits.
Most cannot tell you where the end of 2nd or 3rd gear is.....much less OD. Needs more power though....Ok...sure. Hp sells for around $100 per pony. $10K outta get you in the neighborhood you wanna live in.
New/Reecent owners should meet me at the Texas mile next spring and lets see if you still need another 150 hp.

Come on... All this talk from a new account? Most importantly it does not take much to get use of all 230-250 hp of an earlier C4.
Pedal to the metal will get you a fun HWY ramp entrance or exit. Anyone that has driven real power is not going to be happy with the car. In fact on several occasions I have given people rides in L98's and they were shockingly disappointed with the power of the L98's.
When you say Corvette to the average person they think about top performance, so a basic 230+hp car does not sell the brand well anymore. I gave someone a ride in my vert when I first got it and they laughed, since my vette before was a lot faster and my mustangs were leagues above the vettes..
Now can the average person autoX a C4 and max out potential? Hell no, but acceleration is brief, limited, and boring.
Plain and simple they were underpowered even for the time for what ever the reasons.

I gave my friend Shane a ride in it.
He has a low 10- second 1/4 mile 1987 Buick Grand National GNX with a Huge 101 mm turbo, lots of internal engine mods, & stand alone FAST computer.
He street races it too on the Chi town streets & back roads.
Shane was impressed with the instant torque of the old MAF L98 in my 87 Vert.
How clean the car was too.
I romped on it hard & shot him well over 100 in a straight line & later on curves.
He loved it.
In his Grand National we have left 1,000 + foot Mickey Thompson Drag Radial Posi traction burnouts on suburb streets.
When we finally hooked up>>>>>>>>we were doing 130 MPH +.
Kind of power that sucks your eyeballs back into skull on acceleration.
Most people would chit their drawers & be stinken.
LOL
We call it pure fun.

The L-48 V8 was the standard engine in the 1975–1980 Chevrolet Corvette.
The L-48 V8 Corvette engine produced 165 bhp in 1975.
Along with the sexy hood.
Makes me smile thinking about it now.
Kind like seeing a pretty women & she keeps smiling back staring at You.
Those were not performance cars at that time and anyone that had a "muscle car" at any point before that knew what and why they were.Nothing more than a scandal in history to make people pay good money for inferior products, or lesser products and technology than was available.
The one guy who posted that tpi link thanks that was cool and very helpful
