As promised

Disappointed, sound just distorts real bad on the camera when I give it any rev at all.

Have to try again later cant capture the sound right.

It really doesnt sound like a cow dying in a 55 gal drum, honest.

That sounds sweet Ron, I love the idle! FWIW, I took a vid of my motor in the engine compartment once & it sounded a lot worse than yours...........even with the hydraulics!! Mine sounded like an old 30-30 Duntov

Speaking of engine compartment, look at all that room!

Some of Mamos handywork

T56 conversion

know its not a C4...some of you asked about it.

It will run on 91 operate power brakes with a reservoir can and surprisingly easy to drive.

With a nice EFI system it could be tamed down even more.
Gong through some tuning snafus tongiht. Ran fine yesterday

LM1 will come in handy.
Jims been a huge help, hope he doesnt pay by the minute lol.

Ron-
That really looks nice. Polished everything under the hood looks great. I also like the Denso mini ALT and simplified accy drive, very "business" like.

Sounds real healthy too.

Cameras..... They seem to amplify certain sounds (like valve train noise) and drown out others (like exhaust pitch). Man I gave up on trying get my car to sound on camera like it does in real life.

Thanks

polsihing is a disease, do one part gotta do the rest. Then the hardware then- chit adds up plus stainless seems to need to be tightened more often for some reason.

Acccessory drive was through Pace Performance discontinued of course
Had to have the anodizing stripped then the fun of polishing it all starts.

Found after the fact you can get the same stuff through CV products wth more bracket options and its pretty reasonable. It only has a 50a 1 wire just enough to run the fan MSD box and halogens. A trad. alt wont work unless its modded being as the nose for the pulley is different.
Engine is the radio windows are AC

Playing with dist curves now. As is runs on 91 fine but imo cant get the total adv I really want (unless I spend 200 on a spark retard so the starter doesnt rip off the block) so dist is going to Bob Jennings in North Hills to have him make up a bushing of his own. At that point probably have to run better gas. Always did like the smell.

This is where EFI kicks its butt the ign curve is infinitely adjustable

Its a money pit like anything else....and the exact opposite type build I usually post about; not for everyone

Next is an exhaust system that breathes then look into some weight reduction if it still needs it, couple safety items for the track-It never ends

Be nice to do this with a light C4 but couldnt do it in Ca. Had this for over 15 yrs so figured what the heck
Its no Torque Monster lol

Ron, the El Camino just keeps getting better. Cameras don't do them justice but you can still hear that beast speak.

I've seen Ron's El Camino; the rest of the car is as beautiful as the engine.
Showroom condition exterior. Nicest EC you'll ever see.

Still doing some fine tuning and working a few small bugs out.

Celebrated mile 50 by wringing it out a little.
Thing starts pulling hard around 4, by 5 it feels like 8 lbs of boost kicks in.
Street tires would be useless on the back of this thing no doubt
Liking it so far.

Think a cam about 4-6 deg smaller would be perfect but like the way it pulls upstairs.
Got one thats 10 deg smaller in case it gets old (doubt it!)

In 80 deg weather can run fine with 1 2200 spal fan on a 50 amp alt no issue
Runs on 91 with no issue

The other half is gonna give me a hand getting some action vids in a wk or so just no time right now. Wish I had more time to get miles on it.
