new injectors from FIC, car was turning on then off right before i ordered them and well its doing the same now with the new injectors. they were multec ones so i decided it was a good upgrade even id they were good. so my new question is can i get some help troubleshooting this issue until my FSM comes in
quick question, my 89 for some reason starts great and will drive great but after warming up when in park or stopped at light it will idle anywhere from 500-1100 rpms. again this is only when warmed up, when i first start its an even idle at 800rom. exhaust fumes really burn the ol eyes. also noticed that i can disconnect the TPS and car idles exactly the same. hopefully i can get some feedback. Thanks
My '87 had a rough idle, my mechanic ran some kind of cleaner
through it to remove the combustion chamber carbon build-up, due to
a lot of slow driving-it smoothed the idle right out.
In the old days (60's), we used to drip water down the carb. while
while flipping the throttle- did the same thing.
BonAir
removed the vacuum line from vapor canister to throttle body and idles just fine, could a clogged vapor canister cause this?? also can i just remove vapor canister altogether? who ever has done this how can i?
Ok, reviving a dead thread here, was there any resolution to this issue. I ask of course because my 88 is doing the same dang thing. I haven't changed anything yet, but I have checked the TPS settings and have ohmed out the injectors and all is good there. OP, are you out there, and did you find a cure ?
