new injectors from FIC, car was turning on then off right before i ordered them and well its doing the same now with the new injectors. they were multec ones so i decided it was a good upgrade even id they were good. so my new question is can i get some help troubleshooting this issue until my FSM comes in

My '87 had a rough idle, my mechanic ran some kind of cleaner
through it to remove the combustion chamber carbon build-up, due to
a lot of slow driving-it smoothed the idle right out.
In the old days (60's), we used to drip water down the carb. while
while flipping the throttle- did the same thing.

removed the vacuum line from vapor canister to throttle body and idles just fine, could a clogged vapor canister cause this?? also can i just remove vapor canister altogether? who ever has done this how can i?

Ok, reviving a dead thread here, was there any resolution to this issue. I ask of course because my 88 is doing the same dang thing. I haven't changed anything yet, but I have checked the TPS settings and have ohmed out the injectors and all is good there. OP, are you out there, and did you find a cure ?
