Default A/C Trouble shoot question!

My a/c works fine after I disconnect my negative cable and put it back on.
The problem is it usually doesn't work after I shut the engine off.

I've replaced the low pressure sensor (93 C4) and it worked but then didn't after shut down.(engine)

I also replaced the digital control box on the dash and again it did the same thing.

I was told that to reset the system you need to disconnect both positive and negative cables and touch them together and this resets the systems.

I never heard that before. It was done and a/c worked until the engine was shut down and then it was out again.

The freon was checked when it was working and was good.

Anyone out there have any ideas?

Is there a way to have the control tested?

If you have Automatic Climate control see this link for the procedure to pull the codes.

https://www.corvetteforum.com/techti...=193&TopicID=2

For best results you will need the correct Factory Service Manual to troubleshoot the codes.

The control head is just one part of the system that makes the A/C come alive. The ECM and programmer is part of the loop also as far as boxes are involved. There are some stand alone parts also like the high and low pressure switches. It all has to work together to make the A/C come on. Diagnosing which box is bad or item can definitely be a difficult task. But just to get you started and have some ideas, I thought I would post a couple pictures of the system from my 94 FSM. My car uses a PCM and I can't say it is the exact schematic as the 93 as there may be differences. But this should give you a signal and logic flow as the how the system is connected.

simply removing the CTSY fuse will also reset the HVAC control head.
