Things are moving slow, but still moving. The engine is in for good as well as the rest of the drivetrain. I think the rear is too low and the front is too tall still, but that can all be adjusted. Next on the list is making radiator brackets, and wiring in the new gauges, switches and dash.

Not if he intends to draw air off the base of the windshield where there is a high pressure zone.

It was a joke. I've followed Kubs and his build and I know what he is doing.

Did some more work today. I didn't put to much time in, but I was able to make and route some fuel lines. The hose is Earl's teflon lined because the rubber hose will degrade faster in today's fuels. Also, the hose ends are Earl's stainless instead of the anodized for the same reason. It costs a little more, but I don't have to worry about it now.

Here they are coming up from the filter, and the return line:

The inlet is on the back of the passenger rail:

The crossover is in the front:

And the return exits the back driver rail after the pressure regulator:

Also, there radiator brackets are mocked up.

A little bit more done. Intake is on for good and most of the wiring is done. I have to make a dash, and wire the gauges yet. Unfortunately I will not be able to work on it this weekend or next, but it should be running soon.

Yes! Its kinda low on the priority list right now, but the engine bay was power washed before the motor went in. Most of the white dust is from cutting up the hood before the old motor came out.

Looking good! Making a dash and wiring the gauges took some time on mine! I would like to tip the radiator and make a vent some time. Are you using the stock hood and mounting points?

Thanks! This is actually my first full build. I have done lots of tear downs, cam swaps, head gaskets, main bearings, etc. but this was my first ground up build. I hope it runs!

I am using the stock hood but I gutted it so there are no more hinge mounting points. I am instead using 4 1/2" dia hood pins. I also added an L88 style scoop to it for the taller intake. I was planning to vent it but if we get 0.5 back for no aero in the new TTA/ST3 I will leave it. NASA has not decided if a vented hood counts as aero or not.

I'm really enjoying this build. What are you going to use for a ECM? How will you tune it?

I thought about that too, the steel hood mounting parts are pretty heavy. I really can't lose any more weight though and aero wise the pins wouldn't be as good so I left it. With the stock hood and mounting in the front it might interfere with the radiator tipped that far. I could tip it pretty far forward with the stock shroud. As far as you have it would hit my coolers though.

I read the NASA board but I didn't catch that. It's an interesting idea! The gain would be .5 to pw/wt? Wish it was points as I'm in a crunch there for points spent on lower weight.

I am using the stock ECM and a PCM for Less mail tune. I have my initial chip from Alvin, and when it is running I will datalog and send it back.

Yeah the hinges are pretty heavy, and I removed them because they would not fit with the radiator. I could have cut some of them away to make it clear but I liked the idea of losing the weight anyway. I had to move my oil cooler to be at the same angle as the radiator. I will try to get pictures next time I am at the garage, but I will be out of town these next two weekends so everything is on hold.

Yeah, in a nutshell PTA is going away next year (not official yet but sounds about 98%) and is being replaced by an unlimited ST style class ST3 at a lower wt/pwr ratio of 9.5:1. The new TTA will not follow the points system anymore (good thing I spent all that money on my 113's and other stock parts ), but have the same 9.5:1 ratio as ST3. This is going to be like TTS/ST2.

However, if you have a stock body with no aero mods (it is still in the works what defines aero. Most likely wing, splitter, undertray, diffuser, etc.) you can run at 9.0:1. This is much closer to the 8.7:1 that I was already building for. I am hoping that my engine will dyno less than expected, or I will add weight to stay in TTA/ST3.
