Just the pad. The dash will bolt to the studs on the top of the trans tunnel and to the bottom of the dash pad. Nothing else is behind it.

Well I'll have to put some inside so i can get my 20HP back!

We'll see how it turns out. If you pay for the aluminum and shipping I don't think it will be an issue. I'll be sure to take pictures of how it mounts as well.

Thanks for the pic, but I already have something in mind. I would like to keep the curves of the later style dash.

I would suggest getting some plexi-glass and doing the first try with that.

It's cheap and forgiving. We did that in the '84 dash.

We did four before we where happy with the fit.

Likely going to go aluminum now that the mounting and vibration issues are apparent.

Good winter project for the kid.

I already have the outline cut out, I just need holes for the gauges now. I will likely do that myself, but PM me his info just in case. I may use him for other projects.

Here it is in aluminum:

I am still playing with the layout (using paper gauges) but I should be cutting holes this weekend.

It doesn't look like you are adding a cage and it doesn't look like the wave shaped metal between the cowl is there like on mine. Did some years not have that? I left it there since I thought it may help chassis rigidity. Perhaps adding one would be of benefit?

Pic of the part I'm talking about:

I weighted it and posted that in the weight sticky thread, I think it was seven pounds. It's the large part right in the middle about the DIC.

The heater core surprised me in how much heat it helped remove from the coolant. And the blower helped a lot with defogging the window, and helmet visor.

If you need blinker indicators or some other warning light I got some LED's from Ebay, $2 and they are bright!

It will get a cage before it is raced, just not right now.

Mine did not come with that middle wave section, and it looks like my column mount is different as well.

Here are some older pics as I was removing stuff:

Sorry man, I haven't done much to the car since Thanksgiving other than mount the switch panel. My wife and I are trying to buy a house right now so the race car has been on the back burner. At the very least I will try to get a template mailed out to you before too long.

Here is the switch panel:

I see you're running a tach that goes to 10k RPM. Aren't you running an L98 still? They make ones that go to 6 or 7k...
