Default Headlight motors keep working

I have a problem with the motors. I am driving the car and i stop it and remove the key, and the haedlight motors start working, not lifting the headlight, but rotating!!

This doesnt necesaarily happen when i turn off the lights, it sometimes happens with the lights turned off!!

Does anybody know why and how can i fix this? My fear is that the motors may break down and they can also ware my battery..

Thansk!!

Sounds like the gears are stripped somewhere so the system doesn't know that the headlights are in position. Time to rebuild. Here is an article:

I checked the gears and they were fine. I thing it is an electric problem. There are times I am driving the car with the light totally off, and when I park and turn of the car the headlightmotors stat working alone!!! It is really strange..

Any thoughts?

There are 3 hollow barrows called bushings. They are the interface between the large flat gear and the output drive shaft. In time the bushings turn to power or crumble and you lose the connection or lock up.

Many times the gears are OK but the bushings only need to be replaced. This will affect the automatic shutdown and electronic limit for motor drive. It then keeps turning which is the noise that you probably hear.

Rodj has a great link coming up next. It cost me just under $20 several years ago for 2 sets and the shipping.
