I got the 383 in the vette and it is running. Just seems that I have no bottom end, really sluggish. Kinda disappointed thinking that I might have made a mistake. Don't know what to do now.
This the motor I put in, the cam is a Howard part number, 110265-10, it has a bbk 58 mm throttle body, eledebrock hi flow intake and high flow runners, I had Scott Hansen reprogram the computer. 26 lbs injectors, fuel pressure is at 44 psi with the vacuumed unhooked, timing is set at 7 degrees, and tps is set at .60 millivolts.
Lots of info missing but I would look at the timing first.Sounds kinda low to me.I would think it would take more initial than 7 and what is the total advance.
Did you get a dyno sheet with yours? If so post it up so it can be critiqued.
The cam is large for a long tube runner car, do you have a 2500 + stall, what is your compression? The cam could be made to work but the tuner must pay attention to details.

Totally agree, you need more timing at idle, more like 12+ I would guess, there may be other things but that is pretty much a given on the initial timing. Talk to your tuner. Good luck, you will get it worked out.
well one problem I keep having is burning plug wires. They are to close to the manifold. I keep burning one of them up. Think I need to put a 3.73 gear in it to make up for the stall converter.
