BBK Sticking Throttlebody
I took a video of it moving about .050" watch the hook that moves the TPS.

good luck
I ran this throttle body figuring it might straighten it self about, but this is 200 miles later, and having to constantly tap the gas pedal is getting to be a royal pain in the butt. Its not even fun to drive like this.
I also went thru all the steps (Vacuum, IAC) etc. It just doesn't make sense, I am going to wait to see what BBK has to say. I have uploaded a video of me moving the throttle shaft like crazy.. I honestly just want my money back for this thing, and go and buy a holley.
I think its embarrasing for BBK to let this stuff go out the door. And I refuse to tweak something that is new and out of the box that I paid full price for.
I am hoping they are going to expedite me another unit, and have me send it back when I get the new one. I would hate to have to wait another month to get my car on the road again.

Arghh.. I wish i would have googled BBK a little better before purchasing this piece of junk..
When you call BBK customer service all you get is dead end voicemails.. even when you press 0 for an operator..
I think this is going to be an expensive lesson here.. I don't really have the time or patience to deal with this and it says on the website you gotta pay ground shipping back to them.
Not like I can afford another $400, but i'm in Canada, and we only get a few good months to enjoy our vettes..

Here is the reply I got from BBK. I will try.. but what does anyone think??
Hi Tony,
Sounds like you might be having some idling issues. I've had luck with this procedure with other customers:
disconnect the positive and negative battery terminals for about an hour and a half. Let the car idle with the Max A/Ac on for 15-20 mins and then drive the car around for at least a week to let the computer system relearn the idle.
If this doesn't clear up the issue please contact me back and we can go from there.
A week or two eh? Sounds like they wanna get me past the 30 day money guarantee. lol

your ECM does not take 2 weeks to relearn and what does that have to do with too much play.

Its a STICKING THROTTLE... I doubt that its even legal to drive like that.
Didn't Toyota just get into a lot of trouble over almost the same thing??

It does not stick or seem to cause me any issues.
Wish I had a stock unit to compare side play.
Good Luck

No....that was the first thing I checked when I got it. I sat there at my work bench playing with the rebuilt for about 2 hours. Just checking it in all positions. The only small problem I had was the TPS screw holes were a little messed up. I tapped them with no problems. The car does run 100% better, even better than the BBK. I am new to the TPI. So, I really don't have any explanations just my experiences.

I was also told that these units are the first gen BBK only units. The older units were Edelbrock housings.
He also told me that they have been getting a ton of calls about.. PM me if you're interested in David's extension number.
