I have replace the opti-spark, plug wires, plugs, also had the injectors rebuilt, replace 02 sensors and cats but still there is a miss. Any ideas EGR valve possibly. thanks
Have you looked around the garage to see is the engine is hidden under a tarp or blanket? Try thinking about the last place you saw your engine and back-track from there.
*sorry for the useless post, but based on the title it had to be done*
Just for a starting point, if the miss is during idle, start pulling plug wires or injector plugs and see if you can localize it to a cylinder. Then you might be able to find a problem. Also look for a wire sparking to ground.
The miss seems to be in closed loop not when I first start it but within 30 sec or so. Also code 43 ESC/knock sensor and 32 EGR system fault. I replaced the parts trying to get the car to pass CA smog. It passed with the cats. The miss is still there. I first thought the miss was at idle but when they were testing for smog at 2500 rpm I noticed the miss. Cant tell when driving.
The knock sensor should not cause a miss. If the EGR is sticking open it could cause a miss. I would pull it and see if it is very carboned up or sticking open.
