I used to drive this car 15 to 20k miles per year and was not willing to do that. Now I dont drive much . If I keep it it will likely get those things. Thats if I have a track to race at. Not looking good for the local track.
the 400 if nothing else should make mountain drive a hell of alot of fun. Takes me an hour and a half to make it to the nearest track that I know if (Charlotte). So I don't do track days often.

yea, i think i am going to go ahead and move forward with a new engine. i have a 404 with forged crank, H rods, and forged pistons. i have a set of 215 Brodix spread port heads that will work nicely on the 404. i need to figure out a cam for it my goal would be somewhere north of 500 CHP. also plan to switch to E85 so i can run high compression.

Of corse i will be buying headers with this to.

Just need to sell the 383 that is in there now. if you know any one looking around the Indianapolis area i got a nice one.

Should run better next time i found a blow RR shock so i installed a set of Bilstens i had in the shop.
In my opinion, you can go much faster still.

What's the 60 ' time ?

agreed, there is still more in the car. i was only running a 1.92 short time. i had the Micky T's on it but when i launched it hard i got into some terrible tire shake, i believe it was due to the bad RR shock. i think the car, as it sits, has a 12.5 in it. It has the MPH just getting it off the line is the trick. Hell with headers it might run a high 11 on a perfect pass.

keep working on it, you will get there.

It took me a year to optimize my setup.

Yes agreed, i am still working through everything. i would like to also start on the chassis. maybe changing out old bushings and going with solid or poly mounts. would like to get to coil overs but don't have the coin for Vans steels setup. probably figure out my own Coilover setup.

Where did you find an LT1 intake with a distributor hole drilled?

Im not sure what it is, its not a "stock LT1" i just call it that for reference. it has the distributor hole cast into it and it is taller than a standard LT1. but the general shape looks like LT1
I bought it at a swap meet and it seems to work really well so i might stick with it even with my 404.

It's probably a Miniram or Holley Stealth Ram.
