The last 2 mornings in a row, my 90 didn't want to start (crank over) right away till about 3 or 4 tries. I leave the battery tender on it when not in use, so I know the battery is charged.
Had the battery(1 year old), alternator and stater checked at Napa Auto Parts and everything checked out good.
What could be causing this? Starter Solenoid or relay?
After I initially get it started, it starts everytime!
Not real sure if the 90 has VATS.
You could've been bitten by the VATS bug. I have had this every once in a great while where I turn the key and nothing happens. Look and see if the security light is on when you're turn the key. I've never had do it twice in row though. It's more like jury duty, it happens, then I'm good for a year.
you CAN top off modern sealed batteries. the covers can usually be pried off but sometimes they are e-welded after the initial fill at the factory so you have to carefully pry and cut at the seam to get them off.
Well she won't start again! Went to take her for a drive before we head to Hawaii tomorrow morning and it acts like the starter solenoid won't enguage, all I get is a single click when I turn the key!
Guess I'll have to wait till I get back in 10 days and figure out what's wrong with it!
I really think it's a bad solenoid or dirty contacts. Probably happened back when my pcv hose collapsed and was spraying oil out the dipstick and probably on to the solenoid connections?
