As most C4 CF member know I did a LQ4 swap. I was driving it, and decided to go a the freeway. I was on a mergeing ramp, and jump on the car (freeway had no traffic). The tires broke loose and tried to spin the car, and I ended up hitting the merge curb on the ramp. I bust 2 tires and knock a BIG HOLE im the oil pan, and locked the motor up.

Thanks, I realizing that I'm Ok, and I didn't hit the body of the vette. I still have the old engine that came out, the only issue, is I cut up the old engine harness, to use the OBII ECM. I'm just going to put a carb on it, until I rebuild the short block. I want to stroke the engine. but that's more $$$. I just want it to run and drive for now.

Ill have to give it to you Randy, you are one of the most talented members on this site!! Solid axle conversion, LS conversion, etc. FWIW I really enjoy reading your post being that you build everything yourself. Hope you get it on the road soon.

I've done all kind of mods to my vette. I enjoy work on the mods I just don't have the $$$ like I had back in the day. I have a daughter that will finish college in May, then I'll have a few more $$$, but til then I'll have to conserve the $$$. I'm thinking about having the car running by the weekend, with a carb. I never tried that with the vette. (just until I can build the LS).

Did it lock up due to lack of oil or did the pan parts stop the crank? If the latter maybe you could just remove the parts and add a new pan and be on your way.
I put the engine, back together, and fired it up for a few minutes today. It was cold and the car is buried under a foot of snow. I couldn't hook the exhaust up today. I hope the snow melt soon. I want to have it driving before Etown's opening day.
I want to see what a stock LQ4 will run, before I do a H/C or maybe a turbo setup.
