14.7 is for pure gasoline. If you have 10% or 15% ethanol in your gas it should be a little lower, about 14.5.

14.7 during acceleration is too high. You should be down around 13 to keep the combustion temperature low so you won't detonate.

With the ZZ409 cam and mini ram you need to shift around 5500/6000 RPM to take advantage of the cam and RPM potential of the combination. You should also be targeting around 12.7:1 AFR at WOT. I would not set the base timing at 12 degrees, since that will push total timing too high at WOT and create knock retard, which will kill power.

I shift pretty high, when I get the MSD6AL2 ignition box I will set the rev limiter to 5800 RPMs. Tomorrow I am going to run the stock tune and see what my tuner thinks with that tune on there. I am also going to drop the timing to 10 degrees and see how that works out and I also requested that my tuner sends me a tune with 12:1 AFR at WOT, just to see how it works out. I readjusted my valves today In case they were a little to tight, and I did find a small vacuum leak at the MAT sensor between the MAF sensor and the throttle body. Hopefully that'll take care of my idle surging. Maybe the new valve adjustment will have an affect on performance.

Hopefully something will work.

As you changed injectors the injector voltage offset table also needs to be adjusted for those injectors-without that it's gonna surge. Don't know who's tuning, but if you mention adjusting the injector offsets and they say "huh?" then it's time for a new tuner-or learn how to diy.

The injectors that I put in are the same flow rate as the factory injectors.

The 85 ECM does not have an injector offset table. This is a whole different animal from the later years.

Didn't realize he's got an 85. However I just pulled up an 85 bin and I do see "injector offset vs battery voltage" and "low pulse width correction vs pulse width" additionally there's " injector pulse width vs load value".

If it's the same size injector and it's latency is close enough to the original you can get away with no changes to those. Otherwise it can be a PIA.......
