'88 auto. My interior lights would not shut off after closing the door and removing the key. I pulled the fuse but that also controls the heater, hence no heat. I replaced the fuse and took out the interior light control timer, which solved the problem, just had no interior lights. However, the next day my battery was dead. Apparently the circuit stays open allowing the battery to drain. Is there a way to wire the timer plug to close the circuit or possibly get into the timer itself and rewire. Having trouble finding a replacement timer, so maybe there is a way to fix this problem until I do find one. Thanks !
A few days ago one of the guys on here said he wired the interior lights to go off when the door was closed without having a timer, so it can be done..Hopefully he will chime in and let you know how this was done..WW
PS...I just went on ebay and found 3 used and 1 new interior light timers....Just type in (88 Corvette interior light timer) to get the listing....WW

Duh ! Ebay, I've been to all the used corvette places with no luck. Thanks..........
A similar problem. I have been chasing this one on my '95 convertible. Been through all the threads and changed door switches for both new and used replacements without luck, so I hope the delay timer may be involved. The radio is sometimes locked off. Interior lights come on when the doors open, security light functions normally. The radio will sometimes not come on and the clock is frozen. If a longer drive, the clock will change and the radio works. Other times the radio is fine, yet others it never comes on no matter how long the drive. Could this be a symptom of a bad timer? Could I test it by splicing wires to bypass it.? Thanks!
As a reminder to all... the boards are not a fix all for an existing issue too. The coupes seem to have an issue with the rear hatch rectifier going bad. When this happens the energy from the hatch release can zap the board. The best evidence of this is an old board that has melted the plastic housing.
