Default Wiper Motor Connection

Apologies for asking such a simplistic question but...I am removing (temporarily) the wiper motor in my 87 to get at the oil pressure sender. I cannot disengage the electrical connection at the top center of the front cover of the wiper motor. (Well, i suppose I can but I hate to break things) There is a tab at the top of the connector and I've tried depressing it and also lifting it while pulling but to no avail. I did notice a bracket of sorts that swings down and away a bit and I've also moved that. Is it just a hard pull? I'm the original owner and its never been off before.

Don't recall how, but I never had any problems removing mine. I can check after work, and let you know.
FWIW, I removed the distributor to gain access to the sender and switch.
To me, it was the easiest method.

Thanks. I considered the distributor but THOUGHT this would be easier. Now reconsidering.

I had to use pliers to remove that connector, not because it was hard to remove but I could not move the clip that holds it in place far enough with my fingers.

Wow, this is frustrating. The clip is the little "tab" in the center top? Press down or pull up? And what role, if any, does that piece underneath which swings down play? But the connector ultimately just comes straight out, right?

Just tried mine, push down on center tab and pull straight back, done.

Keep trying

Here's a picture of the connector plug.

The yellow arrow points to the locking tab which prevents the connector plug from being pulled out. The red arrow points to the release tab you press down on to allow the connector to be unplugged.

Press down on the release tab before you pull on the connector plug.

Got it! Thank you all, gentlemen. It didn't come out all that easy but the photo helped. Once I saw what I was dealing with, I just committed to getting the darn thing off.

And btw, this has to do with an oil leak onto the cat converter and I suspect the sender. So the reason I didn't want to remove the distributor was I want to run the car to see if that's where the leak is.

Once again, thank you all. I am deeply appreciative.
