Default coolant to throttlebody

does anyone know if coolant to the TB is necessary? I live in Florida. Has anyone plugged the the two large inlets/outlets on the bottom of the reservoir tank? What did you use? I know I haven't bought the manual and yes OEM is ideal. I'm stripping it, I'm basically building an adult race kart. autoX here we come.

Usually called a throttle body bypass, so YES.

If you want to know if it's OK to bypass the TB coolant inlet, the answer is YES. I, too, am in FL and saw no reason to pre-heat my intake.

If the two large inlet/outlet hoses you're referring to at the reservoir tank are the lines to and from your heater core, doubt you'll need heat to autoX!

Jeez I can see maybe not using the search function but did you even look at this full forum page before you asked???? This topic is being discussed right now and has been many times in the past. The Search engine here is your friend.

Yeah I know and we are not supposed to call them out on it but to sign up and ask about something before even scrolling the page is crazy. This was the second time this week I noticed the same question was asked about the same topic.

Note to all noObs

This Forum offers a wealth of information. We are all car guys and like to help each other out. Since the newest C4 is now 19 years old almost every problem and every modification as well as every part has been solved, tried and reviewed right here and commented on.

SO: before you ask your question, please take a look around at what is being discussed currently. There may be another NoOb that has posted this same question in the last day or so.

NEXT If your question isnt recently written about, try the "SEARCH" function. Ignore the obvious stand alone "SEARCH" box and look at the red bar that runs across the top of the page. You will notice in that bar is another "SEARCH" with a drop down arrow. If you click this arrow it will bring up another "SEARCH" box. IGNORE that and look down further to the "ADVANCED SEARCH" and click that. Now you are cookin with gas. In the term box, type in some basic search topic and then, most importantly, scroll down in the forum select and choose one of the C4 specific forums or choose the main C4 header to search thru all the C4 forums. This is most important or you will be searching thru all the Corvette forum and will bring up any topic from C7, 6, 5, 4 ,3, 2, and 1 ever written with your search terms.

If this method doesnt work, try changing a few words around, shorten your terms broaden or narrow your search. Then if you dont find something that helps you out, post specific questions that will help us solve your problem.

And Please, Please, Please dont start a topic with a title "HELP! with no other words. We are gonna help but you will get more response from someone if you ask a specific question because someone who has experienced the same thing and has a solution will be more apt to answer.

I know people feel the need to regularly establish superiority on a forum. I tend to be a lot more accepting. I apologize for your anguish next time I will ask permission before asking a question. Besides, if you look at the calender and time I had gotten home drank a few while working on the vette and decided to last ditch post. Again I apologize, I'll go back to minding my wife, kids, new business, and day job. Don't disregard the dogs, horses, PTA meetings, soccer, karate, and all the extras that life provides. I appreciate your patience.

BTW I sealed those coolant ports on the bottom of the reservoir with 1" black rubber chair leg sliders from Walmart. Dorman doesn't make vacuum caps that big. At least none I could find.

This forum is a wealth of knowledge if you choose to use it correctly.
The current noobs that will chime in give you less than a 50/50 chance of good info.
So rather than take jabs at those that could really help you.
Take their advise and use the search feature and draw on two decades of info.

For your sake, did Walmart use hi-temp rubber for those chair sliders?

Good Luck with that.

One of the problems I find with the Forum search function is that if you type in more than one term you get all the possible hits of all the possible terms. For example, type in "one two three" and you will get all the posts that have "one" in them PLUS all the posts that have "two" in them PLUS all the posts that have "three" in them. This is known as an OR search because it finds "one" OR "two" OR "three".

A search method that narrows the results much better is known as an AND search. In that case, the results will only show posts that contain "one" AND "two" AND "three". You can do an AND search by putting "AND" (must be uppercase, no quotes) between the search terms.

These are only temporary. I'm installing a custom aluminum radiator with it's own cap and catch can. I believe my heater core was leaking. I do use the search feature... and I do appreciate the knowledge but I don't appreciate the "jab" about using the search feature. A simple copy and paste link with the simultaneous thread woulda been blatant enough like Vader did. I'm just rolling with the punches and never been known to stay hit. On the other hand, REALLY? COME ON MAN REALLY? I'll use the search feature if I want to and if I don't and I wipe my whatever with it please call the search police. So freakin what! gimme a break. Even my wife is laughing at this right now....Who cares

Oooooo, did someone get butt hurt?

I want you to follow my instructions and enter "coolant bypass" with the quotes in the search term box following the instructions I had written above. It would have saved you time (you had to type two words) that you seem so lacking for in your life.

This is just 5 of many and you will see I responded to most. , so no, I am not just sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for a poor boy like you to screw up and ask an innocent question and act all superior.

Son? Ive probly got underwear older (and smarter) than you. Since you would rather argue than learn anything, I think Coach is right.

Do us all a favor and save a little more server space, delete your registration and head over to SmokinVette. I am sure you will be just as popular over there.
