Default 1984 corvette

My muffler fell off so we pulled other one.
Y pipe is in bad shape but with no mufflers you would think would be really loud
but it isn't
thinking cat is clogging up
after running car over a week with no mufflers she decided
to loose power.
were thinking catalytic converter instead clogging up.
Was thinking of just pulling cat n put test pipe but heard
you can clean catalytic converter s out.
any Ideas

Yes it can be but I don't recommend it I recommend replacement of it with a suitable Performance Cat that should be out there to avoid any problems with Vehicle Inspection problems if your state has such a thing. If you don,t have inspections well than find a Cat delete pipe or build/find a custom Exhaust, but the Cat you have now is full of a very Nasty Heavy metal compound and it wont do your health or the environment any good being polluted with that stuff, and doesn't come out easy.

I have heard that Metal Recycle rs will even pay for old Cat Converters

Didn't know I was only aloud to ask a question one time I asked again to make sure I was thinking straight.

George, I've seen you do multi-posts of same or very similar questions a few times now--the reason this bugs people (especially those who try to help) is that there's no continuous record of your problem & the steps you've actually tried in order to rectify it. People chime in with solid advice, and we never find out whether you followed or ignored it. It feels like a waste of time starting from scratch just so you can second guess the wording of your question...sorry!

Why should we try to help you again, if you didn't respond to good suggestions the first time?
