The beginning...LSx project
In preparation for that, I found these bright LED light bars that I thought would be great in place of the OE fog lights.
I was able to source some 12” wide 2” tall light bars off Amazon and built some custom mounts for them into the bumper.
They ended up being so bright that I had to buy those blackout lenses from Eckler’s or wherever. Just to tone the light down. Literally blinding if not blacked out.
I did some interior lighting work, but I’ll get to that in a different post about the new interior.
For now, let’s stick with the exterior lighting. There is a guy, maybe you know him, on Instagram @retrovette who makes taillights specific to the c4 (both body styles). Anyway, he makes these infinity taillights and so I just had to have them. Side note, I’m currently removing these lights for the upgraded RGB versions. But these things are freaking sick!!
Daytime
Running lights
Brake lights
The RGB version will replace the halo with a white ring that can change to any color and program any moment. All by BT and an iPhone app.
One of the biggest features I was looking forward to with the Holley system is the ability to add a ProDash. Specifically the 12.3” screen. You see, I absolutely love the OE 80s dash cluster. The digital stuff was just so cool, but none of it really worked flawlessly with all the additional things I have done to the car. But Holley, they did something cool with the ProDash. They made it customizable with the screen. All you actually need is a JPG type file to be set as the correct dimensions and that can be the background of the screen. Then you just build the gauges around it. And so that’s what I did.
But Of course, I went a step or two further and I completely redid the center dash. I added an 8” touchscreen radio to the car. And then more lighting. lol.
A before and after
The 8” touchscreen
Probably my favorite background
Another style I made
Trying to bring that 80 vibe back
Maybe a little retro look
But WOW!! Looking like Tron here
Some extra interior lighting
Hope all of you have enjoyed my build thus far and will continue to chime in with your expertise and wisdom.
Thank you all.
