There is nearly zero demand for a C4 AWD conversion kit. Which means there is literally zero chance that a decent engineering firm could reoup the development cost of such a kit. I am not at all surprised that such a conversion kit does not exist.

Front/rear torque distribution depends on which AWD system you are talking about, and the current settings for that system. Too many variables to answer that question. Be specific.

100% on the money. The exact reason for my post #10.

luckily, where i live in ohio, we dont have many teslas .

however, what steps can i take to keep my supercharged 93 vert from getting beat by one off fhe line?

i am thinking about adding a small nitrous shot and ramping timing a little (since nitrous cools down the boosted heated supercharged air).

obviously the tire dept needs to put down insane grip.

any other ideas?

There aren't any! Deal with it!!!

IDK what the demand is...it probably IS about 0. But an AWD 'Vette would be easier to launch and drive in some circumstances. I think the biggest issue is that the front diff would have to occupy the same space as the front of the crank shaft. The two parts can't really share that same space.

W/o AWD, you're never going to match a Tesla w/any streetable tire and/or suspension.

Good luck. Very few people on this forum have enough to hang with one at the end of the quarter, let alone at the start. I'll let you know at some point. Teslas are a dime a dozen down here in South Orange County. My coworker has one so maybe I'll run his someday.

Back in the hey day on this forum before people moved onto "cooler", faster projects there was a guy that was designing and almost started to work on an awd c4. I can't remember if it was Bruce or Baldturbofreak. Either way, search their posts and you might find some info to help shape your thoughts.

I got on at the tail end of things in 2006ish. Their cars would make my car appear tame!

I just remember the rear mount turbo disaster that occurred with the two individuals. Started as best friends with good intentions and ending with the two guys nearly at blows.

It just proves the old adage of not mixing money and friends....

I think it'd be easier to just take the C4 body and put it on another chassis which can house a propulsion system that can outrun a Tesla.

Will, your car can beat a Tesla going backwards.

wonder what would happen if you could get a second gear on the Tesla. My understanding is the copper windings flying around in a motor at those speeds would become the equivalent of a styrofoam slicer if they were to fly apart. I know flywheels can do crazy things and iron is lighter on a molecular scale... The one I was in was limited to around 130 by a computer. If you could add another gear then you can wind out that power again and it probably would be faster...

True...though the vid appeared to be shorter racing...like 1/8th. I would take it one step further and say the big advantage being shown is in the 60ft times -- due to the AWD setup and instant torque of the electric motors.
