I went ahead and installed the LSX Innovations adapter mounts and the original mounts from the L98 after a thorough cleaning. Tomorrow I will be doing some test fitting to see where we end up. Probably will have to do it all over after I get the Advance Adapters adapter plate for the 4L60E to reuse the 700R4 tailshaft. I have to think someone on here has used this adapter and can tell me how much I need to shift the engine forward, if at all.

After tomorrow I plan on doing the glaze break and clean this thing up and start putting it back together.

Also steer clean of the comp truniom upgrade, lots of people have had those fail.

I did the CHE bronze bushing trunions on my stock rockers seemed very nice quality and good reviews but I have not started the engine yet...[/QUOTE]

Have you heard anything about the Brian Tooley trunnion upgrade with needle bearings? Good prices and various levels of kits.

From what research I have done it looks like the BTR kit is basically the same as the summit trunion kit. The difference being it is USA made so a little higher quality vs the China made summit kit, but the design is the same.

here's a thread on L1STECH you might find informative:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...on-inside.html

You might find it helpful to spend a little time browsing threads on that forum. Seems lots of people have tried just about every LS engine part and discussed it there. Of course for this forum is the place for Corvette and C4 specific stuff.

Let us know what you decide

10 4 on the LS1tech page, I've been going there a lot lately and it has a lot to offer. Thanks for the link.

So I did some test fitting and managed to get the trans out today. The LSX Innovations motor mount adapters lined up the motor mounts perfectly from side to side. The 4L60E trans is exactly 1 1/2" longer than the 700R4 and the Advance Adapters piece is 1 1/2" thick so I'm thinking the motor will sit that far forward from where the L98 sat. Glad I bought adjustable motor mount adapters lol

You should put the oil pan on. Depends on where you place the motor you might be touching the cross brace. I put my engine more forward that what you have currently. Next issue is the hood, I used thin swap plates and the stock motor mounts. The driver side head will be another area. Best of luck.

I run a dana 36 with 2.73 gears, the rear is due for a rebuild soon unless I just swap it out for something.

Settled on a new Dorman 615-901 LS2 intake i found on the e store for $353. I should be getting my heads back this week with new replacement valves, 3 angle valve job and PAC 1219 springs. So now that the induction parts are decided i guess I need to figure out the cam!

I finally got my oil pan, an F body style i found on the bay store for $110. Also received the tail shaft housing adapter and did some test fitting with that. The kit came with a new reluctor ring that slips on the tail shaft and tightens down, but the old one is in the way. I should be able to press that one off right? Also the tail shaft on the original 700R4 stuck out 3/4" but with the adapter and original tail housing it sticks out about 1 1 /4". I don't think it will be a problem but today I hope to get the driveshaft out of the car and check.

looking good buddy, I would find a set of ev6 injectors 49lbs (LS9). I run a set of 43lbs LS3 injectors, they work sweet.

Thanks, yeah I wasn't sure yet on how much flow i need for the injectors. The terminator system i bought is made for the multec truck injectors. Prob just a matter of sourcing that type of injector with the flow rating you mentioned.

Yesterday was family day plus it rained all day so I didn't get anything done. After I build my wife a potting table I'll get the driveshaft out and see if the extra half inch of tail shaft will cause any interference.

The parts look great, its going to be a special car.

How long did you have to wait for your throttle body?

I ordered the same throttlebody, I think and have been waiting for a almost a month and its still hasn't shipped because they keep pushing the ship date back meaning the rest of my order from summit has not shipped either.

Wasn't too long on the throttle body, 4 days i think but I got it from ebay not summit. However the last summit order only took 2 days since they are just 4 hours north of me. I did place another order at rockauto for the alternator bracket and other items this weekend and it appears to be tracking for delivery this week.

The world is losing its mind and we are ordering car parts lol

Haha yep, things are crazy, but we're car guys to the end lol. The news just keeps getting worse up here (Canada), but i think in a few month we'll be just fine.

Here's hoping my TB and other parts ships today as summit is saying...

I did not get to work on the vette this weekend other than play around with some of the new parts that were delivered. Hoping to get the trans into the basement and tear down the guts this week. My plan is to check installation with the bare block and trans since they will be much lighter and easier to maneuver empty. I read somewhere that some corvettes had the drivetrain custom fitted at the factory which is part of my reasoning for this approach.

BTW since no one knows me on this forum I have rebuilt a th2004R about 6 years ago that went in the 81 trans am in an earlier post and since that worked out i rebuilt a th700R4 that was a junkyard trans i had purchased many years ago but rebuilt for my 84 Trans am about 5 years ago. They say if you can rebuild an engine you can rebuild a transmission and it's mostly true, but organization is key. Take it apart and stack it up as you take it apart and you'll be fine. Barring any serious structural damage.

there lots of videos on you-tube to rebuild 200r/700r, there basically the same transmission. GM transmissions have way too many little pieces for me. I prefer rebuilding dodge transmissions, you can build them with basic hand tools. As for engines the engine I wouldn't want to do is a powerstroke. These gen 3/4 LS engines are easy, just like the earlier sbc stuff. Worst case is going to be the wiring. My fuel controller didn't number my injector wires and my coil pack wires. Lucky for me I could find a schematic drawing with lots of small print (I'm old and hate small print), lol
