You know, I'm still trying to figure this one out. I am convinced that the motor is shifting so in order to thorougly check the motor mounts, I want to remove them. In order to accomplish this, it looks like I need to pull the exhaust manifolds. My Haynes manual does not mention this. By the way, this manual has let me down on several other occasions and I think it is a useless POS. I wish I had a GM shop manual for this car. Regardless, I hate to open a potential can of worms.

Factory service manual says you don't need to mess with the manifolds. Raise car, unscrew nuts from bottom mount (where they attach to the frame), raise engine, replace mount, set engine back down, etc. You may need to get the heat shields out of the way. That's pretty much it.

Have you thought of getting a set of beam plates for your car . On my 6 zr1 when I shifted hard from 1 st to second and from 2 nd to third threat end would kick out like crazy now it’s straight as a string

I think I finally solved the mystery of the "shifting drive train" where I felt a stange motion in the gas pedal while accelerating out of a turn.I happened to watch a recent video by "Practical Car Guy" titled "C4 Corvette Quirks". It seems the ASR will "push back" on the gas pedal if it senses a wheel slipping. To test if this is the cause, all I have to do is cause the condition and then do it again with the ASR turned off.

You might also experiment with rear tire pressure. I was also having trouble with accelerating out of a turn. I had dropped my air pressure to 32 psi so try to eliminate excessive wheel spin and the back kicking hard to the left from launch. I increased it to 38 psi and it not only helped when cornering hard but now it launches hard and straight.
